It was the loudest and most crowded that Terrence had ever seen Sinsation. He wondered whether they had oversold because the crush of people was so overwhelming. Marcus was making sure to stick close to his side, and with the bodies all jammed in, there wasn’t the slightest chance that he could avoid physical contact with him. Then the lights went down to almost complete darkness, and multi-coloured spots moved automatically across the stage area, twirling around crazily. They were about twenty feet back from the front of the raised platform where the performers would be. It had been impossible to get any closer in the standing-room-only club, and Marcus was still a little cranky that they had arrived so last minute.

In reality, he wasn’t much of a BDSM guy. He liked toys and some restraints—and obviously enjoyed watching—but that was about it. Even when Marcus had originally brought up the show before he’d met the doctor, Terrence hadn’t been all that enthusiastic about going. He wasn’t against a sex show in and of itself, he just would have preferred a different theme. But Marcus had been so excited, he had agreed. Now, he didn’t care about any of this stuff. All he could see was Jackson’s handsome face and the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled at him.

Eighties retro dance music blared as a cage with the man inside chained spread-eagled against the bars was lowered. Enthusiastic cheers went up at the sight. The prisoner had an impressive build, a stud with close-cropped canary-coloured hair. He was tanned, oiled and almost completely naked. He wore a cock and ball harness, spiked boots and a blindfold.

As soon as he touched down, two men approached from either side of the stage, and the announcer shouted into his microphone, “Queens and Gentlemen, I present to you two of the filthiest men in adult entertainment today, Rod Heat and Stern Masters!”

The crowd was in a complete frenzy, and Terrence was not only getting uneasy, but very claustrophobic. This was not his scene at all. They’d only had a couple of events like this since Sinsation had opened, and this was the first one Terrence had ever attended. Even if the doctor wasn’t in the picture, it would have been his last.

Ever since he had been in his chosen field, he had learned so much from other officers, firemen and doctors. Public places over capacity were disasters waiting to happen.

“Check it out,” Marcus yelled into Terrence’s ear. “They’re each wearing their trademark outfits—you know, their personas.”

Terrence just nodded. He had no clue what personas these guys had—he’d never seen any of their films. He was able to piece it together just by watching them, though. Stern Masters was a large buff man in an elaborate deep purple leather bondage outfit, studded with rhinestones. Rod Heat had the cowboy thing going on, and was built, but in a leaner way. He sort of reminded Terrence a bit of Matthew McConaughey.
